The Story of Grant Lira

I’m Grant Lira, co-founder of The Empathy Firm. Today, I wanted to take a moment and share my journey before The Empathy Firm came to be.

During college, I was still finding my way. I started in general business studies, since I’ve always had a knack for communication and enjoyed interacting with others. It was in my junior year, however, that I realized business development was my true calling.

An old high school friend, who ran a business fraternity, invited me to join. It was a completely new world for me. I participated in business development competitions, and while I wasn’t the best in the beginning, I learned a lot. One thing that changed my perspective was observing how the successful participants connected with people through stories rather than dry scripts. This understanding shaped my approach to business development.

Around this same time, I started working with The Empathy Firm. The experience taught me the importance of not just making a sale, but finding the right people to work with and ensuring they receive the help they need. This approach has been a cornerstone of our success.

Fast forward a few years, and here I am, having grown significantly thanks to amazing mentors who have contributed to my professional and personal development. They have taught me about leadership and the impact it can have on a business.

I’ve learned that in business development, client satisfaction is key. Selling is not just about making a deal, but ensuring the client’s needs are met. This journey has been full of ups and downs, but the lessons learned have been invaluable.

One of the areas I’ve been focusing on is leadership. Not just leading by example, but becoming the person your team needs you to be. I owe much of what I know about leadership to people close to me, especially my brother, Gavin Lira, who has been a mentor and inspiration.

Looking to the future, my goal is to have my own business development team and to share the knowledge I’ve gained. Every day at The Empathy Firm is a new opportunity, and I’m excited about what lies ahead.

I’ve always been passionate about helping people. I strive to identify their challenges, provide solutions, and guide them towards their goals. It’s a deeply rewarding experience to see the transformation that can occur.

Building The Empathy Firm with my brother, Gavin Lira, has been the most fulfilling experience of my life so far. I’m grateful for the journey and the people who have been part of it. There’s still much more to learn and achieve, and I’m eager to continue moving forward.

Best,

Grant Lira
